It is our pleasure to introduce Riku Salmela as our new Group Director of Kolmeks Components business area. In this new role, he will be responsible for leading all initiatives aimed at driving business growth.
With 20 years of international experience in several industrial areas, Riku is prepared to lead us through the next phase of growth. We are excited about the perspective and leadership he will bring to Kolmeks.
Since joining Kolmeks, Riku has already brought fresh energy and focus to the company. We sat down with him to hear about his journey over the past few months.
From the start, Riku wanted to get a real feel for the company. “It’s important to be part of the operations, not just observe them from a distance,” he says. Visiting the factories was one of his priorities, where he met the teams and saw the work up close. He noted Kolmeks’s well-organized processes and efficient operations, as well as the company’s down-to-earth approach, which encourages collaboration. During these first months, he has also taken part in several customer visits to better understand their needs and expectations.
Riku values the teamwork he experiences at Kolmeks, especially when it comes to leadership. For him, leadership is natural and enjoyable—it is about helping and motivating teams to succeed and being motivated by seeing people grow. This motivation extends to his work in the electrical motors and motor components industry, where he values Kolmeks Components’ role in helping companies improve through sustainable and efficient solutions.
With this perspective, Riku is looking ahead with a clear vision for Kolmeks Components: to be a recognized name in the industry, with a growing presence and strong customer relationships. “We have a global footprint and expertise—we are well-positioned to make our mark and grow this business,” he says. His main focus is on creating a strategy that moves the business forward, ensures competitiveness, and continues to offer sustainable solutions that truly meet our customer needs.
