BM2 – Two-Pump Booster Stations
Kolmeks BoostMaster2 (BM2) is a two-pump booster station equipped with separate control panel-mounted frequency converters. The stations are available in the power range of 2 × 0.75–2 × 45 kW and are manufactured from stainless steel or acid-resistant stainless steel.
During low demand, one pump operates at low speed, and as demand increases, its speed automatically increases. If the capacity of one pumping unit is insufficient to meet demand, the standby unit starts and runs in parallel with the operating unit. Maximum output is achieved when both pump units run at full speed.
Automatic pump alternation is handled by a control system in the electrical control panel using a timer.
The BM2 booster station delivery includes pre-adjustment and test operation to ensure that the design point is achieved. Dry-run protection as well as sleep and alternation functions are also verified.
The station includes two pumps with electric motors, frequency converters installed in an electrical control panel, alternation control, suction and discharge manifolds with pressure gauges, shut-off valves on both suction and discharge sides of each pump, pressure transmitters for both frequency converters, and a diaphragm expansion vessel.
