Structure and operating principle of multi-stage pumps

Multi-stage pumps are vertical centrifugal pumps with dry motors. Multi-stage pumps are designed specifically for applications where high-pressure output is required. The high-pressure output of the multi-stage pump is enabled by the design of multiple overlapping impellers. The compact in-line design makes installation easy and the pump can fit into a small space.

Model series, sizes and control options

MVVF models are equipped with round flanges according to DIN EN 1092-2 in sizes DN25…DN100. MVV models are equipped with oval threaded flanges G1-G2” according to EN ISO 228 PN16.
Multi-stage pumps are available in the power range 0.37 kW…45 kW and with a comprehensive range of material options to suit different applications. The MVV pump series is available in cast iron (EN-GJL-250), stainless steel (AISI 304) or acid-proof steel (AISI 316).

A comprehensive range of mechanical shaft seals enables applications up to 140 °C. The multi-stage pumps are available both as a fixed-speed pump and with an integrated frequency converter. The pump with an integrated frequency converter offers several control methods depending on the application: direct speed reference, constant pressure difference, constant pressure (pressure boost), constant temperature, control by external automation or control via MODBUS RTU. Settings can be conveniently made on the frequency converter display or via a Bluetooth connection with a mobile app.

Multi-stage pumps can be used for pressure boosting, boiler feed, irrigation and fire protection pumps for clean oxygen-rich liquids. They are also suitable for clean aggressive liquids, for example in industrial processes and heat recovery systems.
