Pump Structure, Features and Equipment

Kolmeks MD, SC, and NC series SD pumps are variable frequency drive (VFD) controlled centrifugal pumps with an integrated inverter and IEC-standard motor. The range of VFD pumps with IEC motor covers threaded pump sizes G 1 ½ – G 2 (ISO 228/1) and flanged pump sizes DN32 – DN200 (ISO 7005), with power ratings from 0,08 kW to 15 kW.

The modular structure of the pump allows for easy maintenance and component replacement.

The pumps can be equipped with pressure or temperature transmitters and programmed to be controlled by external automation systems.

Applications

Kolmeks VFD-SD pumps are suitable for circulation, pressure boosting, and transfer of clean liquids in closed and open systems across various applications. Typical applications include heating, ventilation, air conditioning, cooling, and heat recovery systems, heat exchangers, pressure boosting, and water distribution. They are used in industrial facilities, ice arenas, swimming pools, spa facilities and many other locations. In addition, NC pump series applications include demanding applications in power plants, district heating primary circuits, and industry.

A wide range of accessories and optional features is available for the pumps.

Fluid temperature ranges:

  • SC & MD: -10 … 90 °C
  • NC: -10 … 180 °C (depending on pump type and sealing solution)

Advantages of Kolmeks VFD pump:

  • The pump adjusts to the system, ensuring silent operation.
  • Pumping capacity is based on actual demand, resulting in lower lifecycle costs.
  • Payback period compared to a fixed speed pump is 0.5–2.5 years depending on the model (see example chart).
  • Alarms can be connected to external systems.
  • The operating point can be precisely adjusted (domestic hot water).
  • Operates according to system conditions (radiator and ventilation circulation).
  • Energy saving.
  • Robust and reliable.
  • Extended pipeline network lifetime.
  • MD and NC inverter pumps can also be safely controlled remotely via Bluetooth connection.
