SpiroVent deaerators

While traditional air vents remove only large air pockets that accumulate at high points, SpiroVent deaerators eliminate the most harmful type of air in HVAC systems: microbubbles.

When water is heated or pressure drops, dissolved gases form millions of microscopic bubbles. These circulate through the system, causing erosion, reducing heat transfer efficiency, and obstructing flow. SpiroVent is installed in the main flow line—typically after the heat source in heating systems or before the chiller in cooling systems—where it continuously removes microbubbles from circulating fluid.

How SpiroVent Works

Spirotube Technology

The effectiveness of SpiroVent is based on its patented Spirotube element. This internal copper wire structure slows down the flow, creating a zone where microbubbles collide with the wires.

These collisions cause the bubbles to coalesce into larger bubbles, which then rise due to buoyancy into the air chamber. From there, an automatic air vent at the top—using the same reliable leak-free technology as SpiroTop—releases the air from the system.

Optimal installation: SpiroVent performs best at the point where the temperature is highest and pressure is lowest, as gas release from liquid is most effective under these conditions.

SpiroVent vs. Conventional
Air Removal

Traditional air vents and manual bleed valves can only remove air that settles at specific points in the system. They are ineffective against fast-moving microbubbles in the flow.

SpiroVent continuously treats the entire circulating volume, ensuring balanced heat distribution, improved efficiency, and extended system lifetime.

Key Benefits

  • Efficient microbubble removal: Eliminates even the smallest air bubbles thanks to the unique Spirotube structure.
  • Improved heat transfer and energy savings: Air-free fluid transfers energy more efficiently, reducing overall energy consumption.
  • Quiet operation: Eliminates noise such as gurgling and flow disturbances in pipes and radiators.
  • Reduced corrosion risk: Continuous air removal protects metal components from internal oxidation.
  • Low pressure drop: Minimal resistance ensures efficient pump operation and energy savings.

Product Range and Applications

The SpiroVent range covers applications from small residential systems to large industrial installations:

Steel models: Flanged or welded connections (DN50 – DN600+) for large buildings, district heating plants, and industrial processes.

Brass models: Threaded or compression connections (22 mm – 2 inch) for residential and small commercial systems.
