Sustainability and environmental responsibility in our production
Environmental values are particularly important to us. We are committed to a circular economy and environmentally friendly practices in our operations. We constantly strive to improve the efficiency of our resource use.
Our goal is to reduce energy and water consumption and improve the recovery of waste materials. Our production locations on two continents enable shorter supply chains, which benefits not only the environment but also our customers.

Social responsibility as a fair player
We believe that increasing social capital also brings the best financial return to the company and its stakeholders in the long term. We are a fair-trading partner. Our operations are guided by our company values, principles, and ethical guidelines. We also require our supply chain partners to adhere to the same ethical principles.
Kolmeks has a whistleblowing reporting channel. The reporting channel is part of our responsibility activities, and its purpose is to maintain an open atmosphere and high ethics, and to identify and develop potential shortcomings in our operations.
Social responsibility as an employer
For us, social responsibility means being a responsible employer and providing a good employee experience. We care about the well-being, equality and non-discrimination of our personnel, and we ensure a safe working environment through proactive occupational safety and risk management.
We invest in competence development and continuous training so that our personnel have the best possible conditions to succeed in their work. We regularly monitor job satisfaction and develop our operations based on the feedback we receive. Responsible management is a key part of our corporate culture.

Reducing our carbon footprint
The Kolmeks Group aims to reduce its carbon footprint by 50 % by 2030 from 2018 levels (GHG Protocol Scope 1 and Scope 2).
Since 2018, our carbon footprint of energy used at the Turenki factory in Finland has been reduced by over 85%. The previously used fossil electricity has been replaced by the currently used 100% renewable electricity. The same change is underway for district heating. Other important actions to reduce Kolmeks’ carbon footprint include reusing materials, increasing recycling efficiency, using more energy-efficient production machinery and equipment, and increasing the electrification rate of vehicles.
Circular economy-based replacement kit solution
The pump replacement kits use 95 % recycled, refurbished parts. The replacement kit is a unique, sustainable solution developed by Kolmeks, with top-notch material recyclability. Our goal is to invest in recyclability and efficient utilization of materials. With the replacement kit, you can reduce your carbon footprint. Wearing parts, such as the shaft seal and bearings, are new. The replacement kit also has a two-year warranty.
Turenki factory uses 100% renewable electricity
Since 2021, Kolmeks’ Turenki factory in Finland has used electricity produced entirely from renewable energy sources, i.e., 100 % Nordic wind and hydropower. The emission factor of the electricity we use is zero. The use of renewable energy is a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint, and we are constantly striving to develop our operating methods and make better choices to increase our positive environmental impact.
