SpiroVent Steel Deaerators
Industrial-Scale Air Removal
In large heating, cooling, and process systems, air-related issues such as corrosion, reduced heat transfer, and pump cavitation can lead to significant financial losses and downtime. Steel-bodied SpiroVent deaerators (DN50–DN600 and larger) are designed for continuous and efficient removal of microbubbles in high-flow applications.
Installed directly in the main flow line, steel SpiroVent deaerators treat the entire system volume, gradually eliminating air and ensuring long-term system performance.
Key Benefits for Large Systems and Industry
- Industrial performance: Designed to handle high flow rates and system pressures without performance loss.
- Minimal and stable pressure drop: Internal design minimizes resistance, saving pump energy and simplifying system design.
- Robust welded construction: Meets the requirements of demanding industrial environments and district energy networks.
- Maintenance-free and long service life: No replaceable filters or wear-prone mechanical parts; automatic air vent protected against dirt.
Technology and Internal Operation
At the core of steel SpiroVent units is the patented Spirotube element, consisting of a central tube surrounded by a fine copper wire mesh structure.
- Flow reduction: The flow velocity is reduced to an optimal level inside the unit.
- Microbubble collision: Microbubbles collide with the Spirotube structure, adhere to it, and merge into larger bubbles.
- Automatic removal: Enlarged bubbles rise into the air chamber and are released via an integrated, leak-proof automatic vent.
Technical Data and Model Options
- Sizes: DN50 – DN600 (larger sizes available on request)
- Connection types: Flanged (PN16) or welded ends; high-pressure versions PN25 / PN40
- Maximum temperature: 110°C (standard), up to 160–200°C (special models)
- Maximum pressure: 10 bar (standard), up to 16 / 25 / 40 bar (special models)
- Material: Carbon steel (S235JR), internal components copper/brass; also available in full stainless steel versions
Optimal Installation Location
SpiroVent should be installed in the main flow line at a point where the water temperature is highest and/or pressure is lowest, as these conditions favor gas release:
- Heating systems: In the supply line directly after the heat source (boiler, heat exchanger, heat pump).
- Cooling systems: In the return line just before the chiller.
