A new silicon wafer plant expansion has been built next to Okmetic’s current factory in Koivuhaka, Vantaa. The facility spans over 40,000 square meters (with approximately 6,000 square meters of cleanroom space). Kolmeks, in collaboration with Boctok, has supplied Kolmeks pumps for the site.
Kolmeks pumps are already in use at Okmetic’s old production facility located next to the new one. The factory’s proximity—only 500 meters from Kolmeks’ Vantaa service center—ensures smooth and efficient maintenance operations.
130 Kolmeks Pumps Ensure Process Reliability
More than 130 Kolmeks pumps were delivered to the new plant. The smallest pumps, with 150 W power, are used for heating air handling units, while the largest ones, at 90 kW, serve the condensate circuits. The subcooling networks of the processes were implemented with redundant multi-zone pumps to ensure uninterrupted operation of the process equipment.
Once again, Boctok Oy and Kolmeks have worked closely together to deliver a reliable and energy-efficient pump solution tailored to the needs of cutting-edge technology.
Boctok Oy’s Largest Project to Date
Boctok Oy was responsible for the piping contract of Okmetic’s new silicon wafer plant. The company implemented the building’s water, stormwater, and wastewater systems, as well as the cooling, heating, and heat recovery networks. By all measures, this was the largest project in Boctok’s history.
